A New Development

I recently was offered a new job in the Olympic Peninsula area where my husband and I have been wanting to move to. And of course I accepted the position! So in the meantime I've been busy packing and filtering through "stuff". I thought I was already downsized enough from the last time we moved! How quickly we accumilate!
I've rented a much smaller house, a third the size of this one, so it'll be a challenge. I'm only taking what will fit in a small trailer and in our truck and car on this first trip. The saddest part is that my husband will return here to finish up the packing, do a garage sale, and hopefully sell the house before rejoining me! After being married for so long (38 years) this separation will be strange.
The other sad thing is that I won't have a computer for awhile so I'll be out of touch with all of you. I will terribly miss the daily contact and the news of your latest creative endeavors which you all share so generously. But please, wish me luck and a speedy return!

My Helper

Once again Ramone is giving his blessing to my work. At least I like to think he is....not just being a pest. I'm toying with the idea of an angel doll. We'll see what I come up with this week. Have a great day....I'm off to work for now.

Another Rework

I just finished reworking this doll's face a bit....one of my first ones I made last year. It needed some adjusting...now I think she looks much better.

Acorns

My friend, Jodi brought back from Iowa these teeny tiny acorns. They fit perfectly in the Guatemalan doll's basket...the doll on the left.

My December Flower: Holly

I completed Holly by adding a small red bird and a sprig of holly. She definitely is a winter season gal.

Small Wonders

I love surprises like this....a beautiful "volunteer" behind our garage. This flower gets so little water and it grew into a tree....truly amazing!

I Feel A Chill In The Air

I know it's way too early to be thinking about snow but I couldn't resist adding a few snowflakes to Holly....it seemed appropriate.

The Stitching Begins

I started stitching and formulating the look of my latest doll. Her hair has turned into an " acorn" coiffure, making her a bit impish looking. I think I will use thread that has more contrast to the dark green leaves so they will be (hopefully) more distinguishable....and look like holly.

Crochet Fantasy

When you get a chance check out these beautifully crocheted pieces at the PowerHouse Museum in Sydney....part of the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Exhibit and here.
Bethel was so kind to send me this link. Fantastic!

My Little Devil

A funny shadow of my dearest.....his other nature trying to emerge or just his morning image before coffee!

Holly

Been toying with the idea of using holly leaves as a headdress. Holly has always been a favorite plant of mine...beautiful dark waxy, perfectly shaped leaves.
Ancients believed it to be holy, lucky and could be used to avert evils of witchcraft and demons. Also medicinally used for whopping cough and fevers.

"Of all the trees in the wood, the holly bears the crown." Anon.

Postcard From A New Friend

I received this lovely postcard from Lorna via Royal post this week. I think it's so pretty. She recently asked me to join in a swap...my first. It may become addicting!
